Counselling and psychotherapy in South West London

Welcome to my website. My name is Maria and I am an experienced systemic counsellor, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Are you looking for counselling or psychotherapy in Hammersmith, Richmond or Barnes in South West London ?

Why might you find counselling or psychotherapy helpful? If you find it hard to deal with persistent issues in your life or in a particular crisis, and if thinking things through and talking to friends and family seem to make no difference, talking to a counsellor can help you to gain a fresh perspective and make the choices and changes that let you move forward.

Perhaps you recognise situations like these

  • having difficulty with partners, relatives, friends
  • feeling low and depressed
  • lacking motivation, finding excuses for yourself
  • being dissatisfied without quite knowing why
  • making others responsible for your dilemma
  • uncertainties around sexual orientation
  • anxiety which paralyses your daily life
  • when thoughts about eating govern your life
  • anger which shows destructive patterns
  • struggling with teenagers' behaviour at home and school

Working with individual clients and with couples, I have helped them to gain insight into their state of mind, and to make changes which benefited them. One of my clients recently said "You helped me to learn to like myself!" To find out more about my approach to counselling and psychotherapy, please click here to visit my About Counselling page.

My practice is in my home in Barnes, SW13 , where I offer a safe, comfortable and confidential environment in which to build a relationship of trust and openness. My practice is a few minutes walk from Barnes Bridge Station , and on the 209 and 419 bus routes. It is easily accessible from Hammersmith, Richmond and Putney.

My fees for a one hour session are £40. The fee is negotiable for students and those on a lower income. In an introductory assessment session we will decide whether counselling is for you, and if you decide you do want to pursue it, we will agree to a schedule of sessions based on your individual needs.

For some clients, making the first contact is the hardest step. If you think that counselling might be an option for you, please feel free to contact me on 07879 650210, or email me, maria.harvey44@btinternet.com, or click here to e-mail me for more information, to make an appointment for an introductory assessment session.
